Overview

Translate a passage into one of 16 supported languages and get a plain-text result to review and reuse. Paste your text, choose its source language or leave Auto-Detect selected, and choose the destination in Translate To. This translator accepts text, not PDF or Word files, and does not reproduce a document’s layout, images or form fields. This tool runs online and requires sign-in and an internet connection.

The AI Document Translator translates text between 16 languages. Source Language sets the input language, with Auto-Detect available; Translate To sets the destination. The configured output is plain text.

When to use

  • Use the translator when you need a passage in another supported language. It accepts text and configured form inputs and returns plain text.
  • To translate part of a PDF or Word document, copy the passage into the Source text area rather than uploading the file. The result is text; place it into your document separately if you need formatted pages.

For other PDF tasks, explore Document Studio.

How to use

  1. 1

Open AI Document Translator and sign in to its online workspace.

  2. 2

Paste your passage into the Source text area. The configured limit is up to 50,000 characters. Keep complete sentences together. If the passage is longer, divide it into sections with enough context to understand each part. Choose a value in Source Language or leave Auto-Detect selected, then choose the destination in Translate To. Auto-Detect applies to the source language only. The language options are English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic, Hindi, Russian, Turkish, Vietnamese, Thai and Indonesian.

  3. 3

Click Process to translate, then inspect the result. Compare names, numbers, negations and specialist terms with the source. For example, check that “do not cancel” has not become an instruction to cancel. Use Copy or Download to save the wording; the download is a text file. It does not include the source document’s page design, images or form fields, so place the translated text into your document separately. For wording that matters, ask someone who understands both languages and the subject to review it.

  • A small team preparing a customer-facing notice.: The team has text in one supported language and needs a draft in another before assembling the final document. Frequently asked questions

Can I upload a PDF or Word file directly?

No. The translator accepts text and configured form inputs, not PDF or Word files. Paste the passage into the Source text area. If you need to extract words from a PDF first, use PDF to Text.

Does Auto-Detect choose the output language?

No. Auto-Detect is an option for Source Language. Choose the destination separately in Translate To.

How can I keep names and specialist terms accurate in a translation?

Compare names, numbers, abbreviations, negations and specialist terms with the source. Give ambiguous wording enough surrounding context. Correct required spellings or terminology in your final document, and ask someone familiar with both languages and the subject to review wording that matters.

Which languages can I translate between?

The Source Language and Translate To controls offer English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic, Hindi, Russian, Turkish, Vietnamese, Thai and Indonesian. Select the source and destination separately.

What formats can I translate?

The registered input is text and configured form inputs, and the configured output is plain text. Direct PDF or Word uploads are not listed as inputs; paste text from a document instead.

How much text can I translate at once?

The Source text area accepts up to 50,000 characters. For a longer passage, divide it into sections that keep complete sentences together and retain enough context for each part.

Can I translate a scanned PDF or image with OCR?

The translator’s registered inputs are Text and configured form inputs; its listed controls are Text, Source Language and Translate To. OCR is not listed for this tool. Make the scanned-page wording available as text before pasting it into the Source text area.

Will the translated text preserve my document’s layout?

No. The configured output is plain text, not a formatted copy of the source. Pasting a passage does not transfer the page design, images or form fields; place the translated text into your document separately.

How accurate is the translation compared with human translation?

The tool uses AI to translate text and returns plain text. A fluent result can still change a qualification or use the wrong sense of a term. Review important wording with someone who knows both languages and the subject.

Can I edit the translation before downloading it?

The configured output is plain text. The listed controls are Text, Source Language and Translate To, rather than a separate in-workspace editing control. Review the wording and make any needed corrections in the document where you use it.

Is my document data secure when using the translator?

Online processing uploads files. Completed results may remain available for later download. See https://mioffice.ai/privacy for current file-handling and retention details. Check the processing mode before starting.

Is the translation suitable for official or certified use?

The documented workflow uses AI to translate text and returns plain text; it does not list a certification workflow. Check the receiving organization’s requirements and have consequential wording reviewed by someone qualified in both languages and the subject.

Can I translate a passage into several languages at once?

The configured controls include one Translate To destination selection, with language options such as English, Spanish and French. Choose the destination you need in that control.

Can I get a bilingual version to check the translation?

The configured output is plain text, and the listed controls are Text, Source Language and Translate To. Keep the source passage separately and compare it with the translated result.

How do I translate a Word document online?

Copy the passage you need from the Word document and paste it into the Source text area. The translator returns plain text, so place the reviewed wording into the document separately if you need a formatted file.
