Overview
Have a file on one device that you need on another? Connect the two, choose the file, and have the receiver accept it. Send one file at a time, up to 500 MiB.
Connect the two devices
Select Start New Transfer on one device. Share the room link or QR code with the other device, or enter the code there and select Join.
Wait until the connection is ready, then choose your file. Keep both devices connected until you have checked the received copy.
Choose the file and accept it
Drop a file into the send area or click to select it. The limit is 500 MiB per file; empty files are rejected. Select one file at a time. Dropping several selects only the first.
On the receiving device, check the offered file name and size, then choose Accept or Decline. When an accepted transfer completes, the browser starts a download with the original file name. Open the saved copy before closing the session.
Finish the transfer on both sides
Use Disconnect when finished. A lost connection can interrupt a transfer, so check completion on the receiving device before retrying.
Share the room code or link only with the intended recipient. They can save what you send, so check the file before offering it and keep your original until the received copy is confirmed.

Questions about Transfer Files
Which file types can I send?
The picker does not restrict file types. Choose a non-empty file up to 500 MiB. Sending a file does not convert it; the receiving device still needs a suitable app to open it.
Can I send a folder or several files together?
The current picker selects a single file, and a multi-file drop uses only its first file. For several items, send them separately or prepare one archive within the size limit.
Does the other person need to accept the file?
Yes. The receiver can choose Accept or Decline after seeing the offered file name and size. Keep both devices connected while it transfers.
Can I close the sending tab before the transfer finishes?
Keep both devices connected and the transfer tabs open until completion. Closing a tab or putting a device to sleep can interrupt the connection. Ask the recipient to verify that the received file opens before you delete your original.
