Overview

Build an instrumental arrangement around a recorded melody. Upload one melody file, describe the style you want, and listen to the WAV result. An arrangement is a new interpretation, so compare the passages that matter with your original recording rather than assuming every note and rhythm will stay the same.

The tool uses your uploaded melody and Style Description to create instrumental music in the described style. Treat the result as an arrangement around your melody, not a promise that every note and rhythm will be reproduced. Listen to the result and compare the passages that matter to your work.

When to use

  • Choose AI Melody to Music when you have a melody recording and want to explore an instrumental arrangement guided by a written style description.
  • This tool creates instrumental music and does not add vocals. For a vocal song, use AI Hum to Song or AI Song Generator.

How to use

  1. Open AI Melody to Music and sign in to its online workspace.

  2. Provide one melody recording in .mp3, .wav, .ogg, .flac, .m4a or .aac format. The configured file limit is 10 MB. A clear recording of one instrument with a steady rhythm gives you a focused starting point; reduce background noise and keep the original for comparison. Fill in Style Description before starting. The recording alone is not enough. Describe the instruments, mood and rhythm you want, in up to 750 characters. For example: “A gentle arrangement for acoustic guitar and soft piano, with room around the melody.” Choose Duration 5, 10, 15 or 30; the units for these values are not specified. The defaults are Duration 10, Creativity 1, Top K 250 and Melody Adherence 5. Creativity ranges from 0.1 to 2 in 0.1 steps, Top K from 50 to 500 in 10 steps, and Melody Adherence from 1 to 10 in 0.5 steps. Start with the defaults unless you have a specific reason to adjust them. Review the visible controls and restrictions before continuing.

  3. Choose Process to create the arrangement. Listen for the main phrase, then compare the notes and timing you wanted to keep with the original. If a downloadable result is offered, check the WAV file before using it.

Examples & use cases

A songwriter developing a guitar idea.

Arrange a guitar melody

A clear, single-instrument guitar recording feels unfinished. The songwriter wants to hear it with a gentle instrumental backing and check whether the central phrase still works.

.wav to WAV

Style Description:
Gentle instrumental arrangement with acoustic guitar and soft piano.
Duration:
10
Creativity:
1
Top K:
250
Melody Adherence:
5
  1. Use Style Description to request acoustic guitar and soft piano; it guides the instrumental style around the melody.
  2. Keep Creativity, Top K and Melody Adherence at their defaults for this first pass. Listen for the guitar phrase and compare its notes and timing with the source.

Expected outcome

A WAV arrangement to listen to and review. Check whether the guitar phrase remains recognizable and whether the backing suits the idea.

A composer sketching a piano theme.

Develop a piano motif

A short piano motif needs a fuller instrumental interpretation. The composer wants to assess a reflective style without changing several advanced controls at once.

.flac to WAV

Style Description:
Reflective instrumental style with piano and understated strings.
Duration:
15
Creativity:
1
Top K:
250
Melody Adherence:
5
  1. Describe the reflective piano-and-strings direction in Style Description to guide the instrumental style.
  2. Select Duration 15 and leave the other controls at their defaults. Compare the motif’s important passages with the source.

Expected outcome

A WAV arrangement to review as a new interpretation of the piano motif. Check the phrases and timing that matter before deciding whether it fits the composition.

A musician exploring a different arrangement for a saxophone melody.

Try a contrasting setting for a saxophone phrase

A clean, single-instrument saxophone recording has a steady melody. The musician wants to hear it with a contrasting accompaniment and assess whether the main phrase still works.

.mp3 to WAV

Style Description:
Instrumental arrangement with a light, rhythmic piano accompaniment.
Duration:
10
Creativity:
1
Top K:
250
Melody Adherence:
5
  1. Describe the light, rhythmic piano accompaniment in Style Description to make the intended instrumental direction clear.
  2. Keep Creativity, Top K and Melody Adherence at their defaults so the style description is the deliberate change. Listen for the saxophone’s main phrase and compare it with the source.

Expected outcome

A WAV arrangement to listen to and assess. Check whether the saxophone melody remains recognizable in the new instrumental setting.

More ways to use it

  • A musician checking a melody idea before developing it further.: You have a single-instrument recording and want to hear a style-guided arrangement while keeping the source available for comparison. Frequently asked questions

Can I start without a recording?

No. AI Melody to Music uses an uploaded melody recording and a Style Description to make instrumental music. If you want to start with a description alone, use AI Music Generator.

Can I upload a full-length track?

The current configuration allows one file up to 10 MB but does not specify an input-duration limit, so support for a full-length track is not confirmed. Check the workspace for any displayed restrictions before uploading a long track.

Should I record my melody alone or with backing music?

A clear, single-instrument recording is the recommended focused starting point. Keep a steady rhythm, reduce background noise and keep the original for comparison; chords, percussion or another voice can compete with the melody you want to develop.

What audio formats can I upload?

The accepted formats are .mp3, .wav, .ogg, .flac, .m4a and .aac. The declared extensions do not establish support for particular codecs or bit depths.

Can I add my own lyrics or vocals to the melody?

No. AI Melody to Music creates instrumental music and does not add vocals. For a vocal-song workflow, see AI Hum to Song or AI Song Generator.

Can I choose the instrumental style, mood or instruments?

Yes. Describe the instrumental direction in Style Description; the tool uses it to arrange around your melody. Listen to the result to check how it interpreted your description.

What Duration options are available?

Duration offers 5, 10, 15 and 30. The units for these values are not specified in the current tool configuration.

Can I export the melody or arrangement as MIDI?

The configured output is WAV. MIDI is not listed as an output format for this tool.

Will the generated arrangement follow my melody note for note?

Do not assume every note and rhythm will be preserved. Listen for the main phrase and compare the passages that matter to your work.

What file does the tool produce?

The configured output is WAV. If a downloadable result is offered, check the WAV file before using it.

Can I use a humming or whistling recording?

The recommended starting point is a clean, single-instrument recording. The tool configuration does not specify humming or whistling as supported input types, so check the workspace before relying on either.

Can I turn a hummed melody into a full song?

AI Melody to Music creates instrumental music around an uploaded melody, but does not add vocals. The recommended input is a clean, single-instrument recording, and humming-specific support is not specified. For a vocal song draft from a short melody recording, see AI Hum to Song.
