Make still PNG copies of your HEIC or HEIF photos. Download one image or a batch, and keep the originals for anything the PNG copies don’t carry over.

How It Works

  1. Step 1. Convert your photos
  2. Step 2. Keep the original photos
  3. Step 3. If a photo will not convert

Convert your photos

Add up to 50 HEIC or HEIF photos, with each file no larger than 100 MB. Click Convert. There’s no quality slider to set. The output is PNG.

Use Download for a single result or Download All for a batch. Before sending the copies, open a PNG and check that its orientation, colors and framing look right.

Keep the original photos

Save the PNG for the place you need to use it, but keep the original photo too. A still PNG doesn’t keep Live Photo motion, and you shouldn’t rely on it to retain camera information.

Check the downloaded file size before sending a batch. Choosing PNG doesn’t guarantee a smaller file, so compare it with any upload limit you need to meet.

If a photo will not convert

Try the affected photo on its own. If it still won’t convert, open it on your phone and export or share a JPEG copy. You can then use Convert Image to make a PNG from that JPEG.

If the tool asks for Online processing, review its access and credit cost before you continue.

Questions about HEIC to PNG

No. PNG is the fixed output format, and this tool has no quality control.

Not necessarily. Some photo variants or decoding failures can prevent conversion. Keep the original file and use a JPEG export from your phone if needed.

No. PNG can preserve decoded pixels without another lossy compression step, but it does not restore detail missing from the source. Keep the HEIC original and choose PNG when the receiving app needs that format.
