Check a barcode image and copy its decoded value when your browser supports barcode recognition.

How It Works

  1. Step 1. Check a barcode image
  2. Step 2. Decoding depends on your browser
  3. Step 3. Scan a physical label

Check a barcode image

Choose Upload images, then select a barcode image. Scanning starts after selection. When decoding succeeds, the result shows the barcode format and value. Choose Copy to clipboard to take the result with you.

Decoding depends on your browser

Barcode recognition depends on the barcode formats your browser can decode. A detection message without a value means the barcode has not been decoded. Try a browser with barcode recognition support if you need the value.

Do not use a detection-only message as a product number. Compare any decoded value with the printed digits before using it in a record.

Scan a physical label

Choose Use Webcam on desktop or Open Camera on mobile, allow camera access, and capture the label. If the camera is unavailable or permission is denied, upload a picture instead. Camera capture uses the same browser-dependent decoding.

Questions about Barcode Scanner

No. Format support depends on your browser. In a browser without working barcode recognition, this scanner may detect a pattern of bars without recovering its value.

The picker accepts image files. Use an image of the barcode rather than the PDF itself.

A barcode scan decodes the information in the symbol, often a product identifier. A current price needs a separate retailer or product database lookup. Do not assume the decoded number includes price, stock, or a complete product description.
